Here’s a little clip of Patrick Stewart talking about the digital age. He’s a big fan of his iPhone (just like my Dad, hehe).

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010CRTC Seeking Public Input on Net Neutrality
Friday, April 17th, 2009Welcome to the CRTC’s online consultation on Internet traffic management practices in Canada. We’re looking for your thoughts on these practices. The comments and discussion resulting from this consultation will help shape the upcoming CRTC hearing on Internet traffic management practices, as well as form part of the public record. We welcome your participation and thank you for sharing your opinions on the various topics.
Net neutrality is a cornerstone of the internet. We don’t want corporate control over what we can see and do on the internet, it’s up to us to ensure that we continue to have the freedom we now enjoy. I urge all Canadians to stand up and show their support for net neutrality. Tell the CRTC that you support net neutrality. Public consultation is only open until April 30 so there’s no time to waste.
I <3 teh internetz
Friday, December 5th, 2008I am not usually one to use leetspeak but tonight I would like to proclaim my unwavering affection and staunch support of the internet. Back when I started to use the internet, I’d look up stuff about the smurfs and lyrics, as well as talk in newsgroups about IT and linux and I participated in mudds and an online World of Darkness game that never went anywhere. I was connected to people but there was nothing to do. There were no opinions expressed and most people didnt’t “get” it so most people online were people like me, early adopters and nerds.
These days however, everyone is online. I am friends with hundreds of people on facebook, people I genuinely know. The uptake of the internet and connected technologies totally thrills me, I gotta say. I love being able to e-mail people, wikipedia telling me stuff I didn’t know, being able to read reviews of stuff before I purchase and twitter letting people know the trivial “filler” stuff that really makes up the bulk of my day.
The amount of information out there these days is staggering, you can pretty much find out as much as you want about a subject and best of all, when you want delivery sushi you can find it and order it online! Hooray for the modern age!

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008Hi there,
I’m looking for someone who can teach me how to use the basic Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign. It’s fine if you’re a student cos I’m only learn it as a hobbit.
Thanks.
Yes we can!
Wednesday, November 5th, 2008We can vote for the person we think will do the best job – and they will win!
I’m honestly overjoyed to see that ordinary citizens can overcome cronyism and racism and actually elect the best man for the job. Well done and go team!
I am relieved that finally a real leader has emerged that will take a stand against the rampant idiocy that has been governing the world’s economies (meaning mostly the US economy) and try to do something about the severe ecological crisis that we are facing.
Go Obama. If I weren’t a staunch atheist I would say god speed you but I will say congratulations and we have your back – we know that you have a steep road ahead of you. You are a modern-day hero.
Movies from Typography
Friday, March 28th, 2008Typography can be used in very expressive ways and I saw some great examples of movies done entirely with typography on the alwayswatching.org blog, it’s definitely worth a look!
