I have a crush on the new Kirk

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Seriously, I think I heart him more than the original, he’s a younger, sexier and slightly less (but forgivably so) cheesy version of Shatner. Be still my beating heart.

I saw the new trek film last night (at last)! Sweet electric jesus, it was awesome – I laughed, I cried, I was relieved that it was actually good – I loved it so much that desired a sequel! (I hear one is in the works, squee!)

There’s a couple of things I need to rant about (warning – spoilers ahead): (more…)

See-Saw 3

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Well I thought Saw 2 was a bit of a weak movie so when Saw 3 came out at the theatre I was hesitant to fork over the $300 they charge these days to see a movie in case it was a flop (okay, maybe not quite that much but the concession is steep!).

I rented the video and if you’ve seen Saw 1 and 2 then you owe it to yourself to watch Saw 3 because it really wraps it up nicely. I’m not going to give anything away because I hate it when people do that, just trust me. =)

Hannibal Rising

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

Last Thursday night I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of Hannibal Rising, thanks to CinemaClock , so I thought I’d write a review of it. I guess it’s not strictly a horror movie per se, more like a thriller with a LOT of gore.

The Good:

I was actually pretty impressed with this movie. The storyline is about how Hannibal became the gentlemanly monster that he is in the later movies. The acting is very good and the plot is pretty good. The effects are impressive and the sets look terrific.
The Bad:

There were a few parts in the movie that I felt were a bit forced, as in, I felt that some characters were added to smooth out some holes in the plot, but having said that, if you can overlook it then that’s fine. I won’t go into too many details because I hate it when reviews spell out the entire movie.

Overall:

Worth watching. 7/10
