Can’t afford to sell songs through iTunes?

Getting your music out there is always the biggest challenge when you’re an unsigned band. I have plenty of very musically talented friends but sadly you haven’t heard of any of them (yet). I was wondering why they don’t have their music up on iTunes but the reason is that it’s pretty expensive to do that.

I was just browsing around and I came across a service called TuneCore that lets you put your music on iTunes, AmazonMP3, Rhapsody and a bunch of other music sites very affordably (for about 99c per site, and as far as I know that seems pretty affordable anyway) and you can make a free account if you just want to have a look. Read the privacy policy though because I didn’t and it’s important to check.

The site lets you upload your songs and album art directly which is handy because that way you don’t have to pay for postage. Sounds pretty alright to me for someone that’s in an unsigned band and doesn’t mind spending some money to get their music out there so you might as well have a look at TuneCore.com.

When you need someone to create your album art or set up your art for the print shop, you will of course have to drop me a line.

P.S. Yes, I will get some measly amount if you sign up and subscribe to the point you hand over some money to them. Just so you know.

I recently discovered this blog. I’ve had a similiar idea to your rewriting the ten commandments for some time now.

(I removed the spam links and changed the name – isn’t the comment great though! Hilarious)
